Apparently there are 2 main changes which may be introduced in Firefox 4, a bookmarks widget and a bookmarks tool bar along with a combined go/stop/refresh button and there is intention to make the latest firefox the most user customizable to date.

Now Gtalk as an feature of AutoReplying..

As many of you are aware, I was not much into online activities since quite long time because of my academic exams and as such, I always needed something that will help me out conveying this message to as many people with minimum efforts. Setting auto replies in my Gtalk account was one of the best way of letting my friends know about my activities and then I found various ways of setting automated replies for my Gtalk friends that I am going to discuss here in this post.Ways to set auto reply:

I will now, one by one, discuss all the above 3 tricks and let you know the ways of using them

Digsby:

I guess, many of you must have used Digsby at least once. Digsby is one of the most used Gtalk client that even supports many other IM networks, and it is also in the recommended list of apps here on Devils workshop. So how one can set auto reply using Digsby? Just follow steps after downloading and installing Digsby onto your computer:

As shown on the screenshot below, right click on the tray icon of Digsby (of course after installing it) and go to preferences
Go to status tab and check “Auto respond with status message” option
Now whenever you set your status message with ‘Busy’ status, then any one who pings you will get a reply with the message you had earlier set as your status.

And here is how, if any one who pings you will be auto responded with your predefined status message:

This is one of the best trick to auto reply, but the only disadvantage in it is, your computer will have to be always switched on to auto reply with digsby running to auto respond. But there’s another service that we will discuss next, using which, you can set auto reply and it doesn’t matter whether your computer is switched on or not! ;-)

Answer.IM

This is the another method to auto reply your Gtalk contacts, in fact this could be the best auto responding tool, if you want your Gtalk account to respond with a pre-defined message even when your computer is turned off. Also, for using this auto responder, you need not download any software onto your PC. Just login to answer.im and give your Gtalk login credentials to start using this auto responder service.

Gtalk Auto reply tool

Another tool is Gtalk auto reply software that works similar to Digsby though, unlike digsby, it doesn’t have support for chatting with online friends. You need to download and install the client on your system and it will keep responding to your friends automatically whenever they pings you. You can get this tool here.

Which tool is best for you?

Well, I prefer using both of them (Digsby and Answer.im) and unfortunately I could not make the third tool working on my system (many of my fellow bloggers could use it successfully though). You may use either of the tool depending on your situation. If you like your IM accounts to auto respond for 24×7 then you may try answer.im else digsby is a great tool too!

Microsoft Releases Deep Zoom Composer

Little over a week ago Deep Zoom Composer RC got released. Today we can tell you that the Deep Zoom Composer is now final. This to coincide with the final release of Expression Studio 3. As always, uninstall all existing versions of Deep Zoom Composer before installing the new version.

With Deep zoom Composer you can easily create interactive Deep Zoom experiences. In this final version you will find that the UI has been revamped, and that there is support for Smooth Streaming and analytics tracking. Furthermore you will find that the enhanced player Deep Zoom Composer uses has been ported over to the online DeepZoomPix service (upload to DeepZoomPix directly from the composer) and that there are more templates that contain source files.

Google Earth Brings Moon Much Closer

In celebration of 40th anniversary of the Apollo landing on the Moon, Google is launching a new feature of Google Earth and it happens to be the Moon. Moon in Earth features various Apollo 11 stories straight out of the many books that chronicles the event told in an interactive 3D medium using Google Earth.

The new Google Earth feature chronicles each of the Apollo landing missions through pictures and stories as well as video footage from Spacecraft films and surface panoramas of photos taken by the Apollo 11 mission crew themselves 40 years ago.

There is also the Human Artifacts layer which contains locations and trivia on all spacecrafts that landed or crashed into the moon.

Moon in Earth also features Historical Maps layer of maps used by NASA during the Apollo missions.

Moon in Earth requires installation of Google Earth 5.0. If you have it installed you can click on the planet button on the top of the toolbar of Google Earth, choose Moon and then let Google fly you to the moon.

Sadly Microsoft’s PopFly joins the list of recently closed applications like Microsoft Encarta,Microsoft Money.. Etc..In a post on the Popfly Team Blog the team just announced that Popfly, which never got out of beta, will be discontinued on August 24.

For those interested in expressing their creativity in software development they point to other products that might be of interest, such as Microsoft Web Platform Installer for web applications, and Microsoft XNA or Microsoft Kodu for Xbox.

Latest Trend In Keyboards

While this keyboard would be pretty hard for any hunt-and-peck typist to use, it really is a great way of showing the power of some brands. The speed at which your mind can connect the lips logo with the Rolling Stones and R, or the swoosh with Nike and N is pretty striking. Lacoste took me a second, along with a couple others, but by and large these logos are pretty much adequate replacements for the letters of the alphabet. They’re just symbols, after all.

Get Rid Of Image Size Limit In Blogger.com

If you are a regular reader of Blogger Tricks, you probably know that previously I had many problems hosting my template images. A year back, I used photobucket to host my template images.. but, the problem with photobucket and many other free image hosts is their bandwidth limitations. Once, you exceed a specific amount of bandwidth, your images won't show, instead.. an irritating ' bandwidth exceeded' image shows. Next, after that I tried to create.. like a new photobucket account per each template.. but, that also exceeded in a matter a couple of weeks.

Not only me, my other blogger template designers are also struggling to find a reliable, free image host with unmetered bandwidth.
I tried to upload the images to blogger and copy the image url from the status bar and use it in templates.. but it didn't worked. But, recently I came to know that we can actually host the images( large) in blogger and hotlink,use them in templates, forums,etc.
Here is the trick..
As usual, create a new post in blogger and upload your template images to that post... but don't publish it... keep it as a draft.
Once you completed uploading all the images, Open each image in a new window.

Once, the image is loaded in the new window, what I previously did was to copy the image location from the status bar and paste/hotlink it in templates. But, it didn't worked!

Now, the trick is, many people don't know that the url which we copy from the status bar is not exactly the direct link to that image file... that's why we can't hotlink to that image.
So, what we have to do to hotlink to that image is Right Click on the image and ' Copy Image location'. (for firefox users). For Internet explorer users, Right click on the image and go to Properties and then copy the image url from there.

Example:
For the above picture, status bar shows...

which don't work.
And the Real image url we get after right clicking and copying image location is..

Which works and we can do whatever we want.. with unlimited bandwidth :D
Hope this trick will be useful to many people who are searching for unlimited bandwidth image hosts.

Snaps Of Online Microsoft Office

I got hold to Office Professional 2010 today and installed it on my machine now. The first feel I got was,“WOW, I have it with me now !!".
The performance has improved significantly when compared to Office 2007(office 12). The ribbon buttons are more clean and neatly arranged and it pulls you to use them.

In this article, let’s look at some cool things in Word 2010.

The first thing which I observed was the, Office logo design was changed, the one which is in the left top corner.

Hold a min... This is not only a design change, but it does a lot more stuffs than expected. It gives a detailed menu options now.

You do have a paste preview option, when you paste in some content, you can now preview how it will look depending on your choice, making it much less likely to undo a paste option. Hover your mouse over each option, and you'll see the effect that using that option will have on the operation.

There are also nice photo editing tools, accessible via the Ribbon. Select a photo or picture and make it the way you like. A new "artistic effects” feature is added.

There are lot more features, but I could just pen down these few. Last but not the least; when you close a document without saving, you get a nice meaningful message. I love this change in MS products since Windows 7.

Office 2010 not only requires the same resources as requested Office 2007 to run, but the same resources to work better. With office 2007 being such a big hit among corporates, can be sure this product would be a hit as well!

You Tube Will Not Open On IE6

Judging by this screenshot taken by an IE6 user who was watching some videos on YouTube, it appears the Google company will be phasing out support for the browser shortly. I don’t have Internet Explorer 6 installed on my computer, so I can’t verify this first hand, but illogical it seems not and a simple Twitter search shows multiple people confirming the news. Heck, some are even downright ecstatic over the news.

The online video behemoth is pointing to ‘modern’ browsers like Google Chrome (twice on the same page even, unsurprisingly), Internet Explorer 8 and Firefox 3.5 as alternatives.

With the impending move, YouTube follows in the footsteps of that other Web 2.0 poster child, Digg, which recently hinted at wanting to cut support for the browser too. Digg’s User Experience Architect Mark Trammell at the time wrote that the site is strongly considering removing essential features like digging and commenting for IE6 users. He explained that while IE6 users make up around 5% of site traffic, it only accounts for 1% of diggs, buries, and comments.

YouTube so far hasn’t officially communicated about the desire to drop support for IE6, but it’s conceivable that like Digg it would rather have its developers spend time optimizing the service for newer, better browsers than wasting man hours on the oft-despised Microsoft browser. We recently reported that Internet Explorer is losing market share to Firefox and Safari at a rapid pace.

Just Follow These Steps:

1. Convert URL Name to IP Address: - Just simple way to load any site using their IP address like to access orkut we can use their direct IP Address. Visit http://www.hcidata.info/host2ip.cgi to find the Ip address of any site.

2. Access through Google Cache - While searching on the Google you will see that there is a blue hover link on each search's footer named as Cached. Search Google for your blocked site then click on Cached. But this way you can't access the latest content on site. As Cache is a copy of content in Google search Engine.

3. Access using Online Translation Tools - In this method, we can use the translation service as a web proxy. Following are the best links I know of. Again Google is your best friend for more resources.

4. Access using Google Mobile search - Google mobile search works, but output may not be optimized for your desktop Internet browser. This is very similar to using a Web proxy.

5. Access Through a public Proxy server - You can use another Proxy server to access blocked sites. Click here to read full details about how to access blocked sites though proxy sites.

6. Get web pages via email - This trick will not work on large web pages and will allow accessing just a single page. Given below are some examples.

Today Google accounts has launched a new option for password recovery by a simple sms. Yes just by a simple sms we can now recover out passwords for Google account. As per google's Official gmail blog they have added a new option of mobile phone option. Simply sign in to your google account, select 'Change Password Recovery Options,' enter your cell phone number and click 'Save.' As given in the below picture:-

Next time you forget your password, enter your username on the password-assistance page, and Google will text you a recovery code. No need to check another email account or even leave the page.[Via]
